The Location...
Griffin House is located in Poplar, around a 15 minute bus ride or cycle to the Whitechapel Campus of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. It has fantastic links to Central London and Stratford via the DLR. It is also only a 30 minute walk to the Mile End Campus of Queen Mary University and a 20 minute walk to Canary Wharf.
Griffin House consists of 6 flats, each housing either 3 or 4 students.
These spacious flats are fully furnished with each double bedroom including
a desk, your own personal sink and plenty of storarge space.
Each flat also contains a kitchen, dining, living-area, a bathroom, a shower-room and a separate toilet.
Wifi is also set up in each flat.
We also have a safe storage room for our bikes.
The Rent...
Most students will probably agree that renting in and around the Queen Mary / BLSMD campus really does drain the bank account. Well, in exchange for the time our Griffin students put into the volunteering with the trust, we currently subsidise the rent to £101 a week inclusive of all bills. This will be adjusted with inflation. The rent paid by the students helps to fund the events we organise for the residents - what a great way to give back to the community!
